Show KILL LARGE CAREY ACT APPLICATIONS At a meeting of the state board of land commissioners a few days ago, it was decided that in the future all applications ap-plications for temporary segregation of state lands under the Carey act must be accompanied by a fee of $250 on proposals up to 1,000,000 and $500 on proposals involving more than 1,000,000. Unless final applications are perfected the deposits will be forfeited to the ! state. ! The board has had some trouble with I applicants who have filed and then ask- ed the board for extentions, which, in I some cases, it is believed, they never intended to take advantage of. In accordance with the new rule the board has dismissed the applications of five companies for the segregation of something like 500,000 acres of land in this state. The companies affected are: The Sevier River Land and Water Co., 100,000 acres in Millard county; Kearns I & Faust, 17,000 acres in Tooele county, the A. C. Honore company, 100,000 acres in Emery county: Green River Valley Land and Water company, the same number of acres in the Green river country, and Aldrich & McRoberts 200,000 acres in Emery county. |
