Tne husband was the victim of the fatal phots and Fred O'sen, state rohd agent for Eulery county, who has been keeping company with the Lowry woman for some time, was the wielder of the automatic that fired the six shots. four of which went home, the latter shooting only whtn Lowry had drawn his gun and fired the one shot '.hat Olsen managed to defltct with his raised arm, when Lowry's gun stopped working aid te collapsed with the other's, bullets raining upon him. The shooting occurred near the Bryan place in Ferron shortly after eight o' clock Sunday evei ing when Oisrn and Mrs. Lowrv, accompanied by some of the children 01 both parties, were met by Lowry wnii.: walking along the s.rtet. It is understood that a lack of proper recognition on the pare of his children prompted Lowry to sudden fury and the draailig of his gun, though the fact that both had their weapons handy has given color to a great many different stories leading up to the shooting. Lowry wa rushed to S-ilt Lake where he died, his body being shipped to Manti tor burial. An inquest was held at Ferron Thursday Thurs-day afternoon, when Olsen's account of the affair was corroborated by other parties,, and a verdict of death at the hi.ncs of Olsen inflicted by the latter in self defence was returned. Attorneys Dickson and Curti-i attended the inquest in the interests of Olsen and the count respectively. |
