OCR Text	Show WILL NOT RETIRE FOR VILLA, General Carranza Is Not Willing to Give Way to Rebel Chief. Washington. General Carranza is willing to retire from the post of chief executive in Mexico City, provided General Villa is not instrumental in procuring his resignation. He also wishes to be assured that his retire, ment will not mean the ascendancy of General Villa. This explanation ol General Carranza's position, made inn formally at Mexico City, was received by the American government here Friday. Fri-day. General Carranza indicated his willingness to have the convention re. quest that both he and General Villa give way to a neutral for the provi sional presidency.
