Show CONTEST FOR GODDESS TO BE STIFF ONE The local contest for goddess of lib-' lib-' erty, which was started last Friday ! night st the dance given for that pur-' pur-' pose, is showing all signs of a contest ; that you sometimes read about. : Misses Leonia Seely and Olea Day j were the first nominees, and they have 1 been soaring right ahead. Since they ' were entered however, Mrs. Mary j Coleman has been named and this entry i makes the cotest an little more exciting, i There are others, too, who are mentioned mention-ed as prospective candidates of their ! friends, and there may be a number of I others before the race is run. I The vote stood, as we went to press ; last evening: Leonia Seely, 800; Olea j Day, 775; Mrs. Coleman, 150. Another ! dance was given last night and the figures have therefore been changed somewhat. The Co-op store people are attending to the ballotting and cash votes maybe registered there at the rate of one cent per vote. The finance committee has completed complet-ed its plans for the assessing of the people, and in accordance with the ! same various members will be sent out ' tJ collect from the business houses of the town the sum of $5 apiece and from each family head the sum of 50c.
