Show DENVER & RIO CRANDE TAKES OVER CONTROL "Buy your tickets at the D. & R. G. Depot," is the legend displayed at the ticket office uf the Southern Utah and the Castle Valley railroads running from this city to the coal mines at Black Hawk, Mohrland and Hiawatha. Whether the control is secured by lease or outright purchase has not been made public by the Rio Grande officials, but it is believed in this city that the last named road has purchased the short, coal carrying roads. ! Auditor L. C. Robinson of Salt Lake j was in the city several days last week checking over the books of the roads taken over. Just what effect this newly-secured control will have on the construction of the "Utah Coal Road" from Mohr land to Provo, the News can only conjecture, con-jecture, but the guess is that even if the road is completed it will only be as far as Castle Gate, wbere it will join the D. & R. G. main line. This will probably be the program. Price News |
