A good supper was served and the evening spent with music, games and conversation. J. J. Hardy and family were made happy Wednesday by the "arrival of Mr. i Hardy's mother, Mrs. Marv A. After further consideration of the railroad matter it has been laid over for the present. Castledale has alreadv shown its willingness to help along the project and that ought to be sufficient until we see something that looks more like work. We are ready though whenever when-ever anyone else is. J. W. Nixon was compelled to lock the front doors and only let a few peo- pie in and out at a time of the UarV door, although he had 21 clerks they j could but properly serve the crowd's I that kept coming for bargains, when j they were told by their friends who had ' been in that the prices were just as represented. Gigantic sale at Nixon's drew tremendous tre-mendous crowds from all towns who can testify that it was genuine. A little over $900 worth of goods were sold the first day, you could not miss it from his immense stock. His cellar is full and warehouses packed to refill the shelves as fast as the sales are made so you can get bargains galore till the 17th, Saturday Satur-day next. H. J. Henson and W. M. The Rio Grande is going to put down a 2500 foot ' well which will be a good test for oil or artesian water. They expect the land project to go soon and dry farming is a promising new occupation. John W. Taylor and others were up ' Cottonwood the first of the week and seemed to have the idea that a water ' supply from that source would be a good thing for the Buckhorn acres. They were not telling their business hut it looked to us as though the Buckhorn '. was still being worked on and that is some encouragement to faithful hopers.
