Show ORANGEVILLE The week has been quite a stirring one by way of cublic gatherings. Monday night a democratic rally at which the Hon. Judge Ericksen and Samuel King were the most impressive speakers, was held, and Tuesday evening even-ing the republican party held forth with Judges Johnson and Christensen and others, all giving speeches to the large audiance. Wednesday night the crowning feature of ail was a recital by Prof. Byron W. King, which, coming com-ing after 'the stirring political.spee.hes, drew the minds of the people into another an-other trend where they were united in an educational line and pouring oil on the troubled waters of politics. Who cannot say the better of the two? Mrs. Emeline Cox left this week for . her home at the Reservation accompanied accom-panied by her brother Jesse Sitterud who expects to spend the winter in those parts. Mrs. Lou Johnson gave birth to a little girl last week. Mrs. Mary Tuttle has returned from Salt Lake where she has been spending awhile visiting her children. She spent a most enjoyable time. A large crop of apples have been raised this season but most of them call for the crying need of more care! It is only to look at the quantity of un saleable apples to convience the people as a whole to spray their orchards. Mrs. Andrew Anderson is quite ill but they hope she is much better at the last writing. |
