Show ' iSSiCARY LETTER Manti, Utah Emery County Progress: Perhaps a few lines from this section of the country would be interesting. The Work in the temple is progressing nicely, but as yet we have not had many people visit us from the Emery stake, either doing work for themselves ! or for the deatl. Marriages no doubt, '. are solenmiztd somewhere in the Emery stake, but they fail to appear at the temple, at least at the Manti' temple. j Sometime ago we had the honor of: the presence of Pres. Jos. F. Smith! and Prt siding Bishop C. VV. Nihley and also a Bro. Pope, an architect for; the church. They tjok measurements and sized up the different rooms in the j temple as they claim that the Man'.i . temple is the most handy and conven- ient temple yet ertcte 1 and they in-; tended to pattern aft.T this one for '. i the next temple t-hey build, which they informed us would be erected in the I near future in Canada, but in which settlement I did not learn. Perhaps j it is not decided upon. Pres. Smith i and Bishop Nibley gave us some very ' j interesting talks on temple work. Said it was the duty of even Latter I Day Saint to see to it ythat they do work for their dead relatives and friends. We have quite large colonies in the temple every day but would be pleased if we had many more. I would ask the parents of the Emery stake to encourage and instruct their young people to come to the hruse of the Lord when they get ready to enter into the holy bonds of matrimony where they can gee married for time and all eternity, and may they so be inspired to do! The Emery County Progress is a -welcome visitor to me, I only wish i i was semi-weekly paper, it is equivalent to a letter from home. A. Anderson. |
