Church Funeral sendees were held Monday, November 4 at 2 p.m. in the Kanab Stake House for Parvin Elmer Church, age 67, who passed away Friday at 1 a.m. following a stroke. Bom in Panguitch, May 1, 1896, he was the son of Hyrum Smith and Evelyn Elmer Church. He was a veteran of World War I. He has served with the National Forest Service as a Ranger on the Kaibab National Forest for three years, and served 30 years with the Indian Service. He retired from tliis work in 1958. He married Zora Bunting in the Manti Temple of the LDS Church, October 6, 1920. Survivors are: widow, Kanab; sons, daughters, Mrs. Merrill (Edyth) MacDonald, Van B., Mrs. Norris (Roma) MacDonald, Kanab; Calvin Parvin, Flagstaff, Arizona. Sisters, Mrs. Aimee Judd, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Mrs Olive Pratt, Fredonia, Arizona and 13 grandchildren. Services conducted by Bishop H. Bemell Lewis, under the dir ection of the Cannon Funeral Home were: The Choralettes, under the direction of LeRoy Judd, sang , Tumbling Tumble Weeds. President Daneil S. Frost offered the opening prayer, followed by LeRoy Judd and Mark Church siging a vocal duet, accompanied by Chryl MacDonald. Carlos Judd, close friend of the deceased was the first speaker. Mrs. Elva Judd followed with an organ medley of favorite songs. Dannie Bullets, who had worked under the deceased offered remarks. Mrs. Jones and Mr. Lorin C. Miles sang a vocal duet, accompanied Jby Chryl MacDonald. Vernon Church was the concluding speaker, with the Choralettes signing, "Prayer Perfect. Edward Heaton of Moccasin offered benedition. Prayer, closing of the casket j was offered by Merrill R. MacDonald with Preston Bunting dedicating the grave. Burial was in the Kanab City Ceipetery with Jack Church.
