There was nearly 500 people from nine LD Stakes in the Southern Utah, Eastern Nevada area participating. The Kanab Stake was represented by the Fredonia Ward. About 25 people from Fredonia Kanab Stake Quarterly Con-ference of the Church of Jesus Saints was Christ of Latter-daheld at Kanab November 3 and 4th with Elder John Longden, Assistant to the Council of the Twelve, and Donald D. Davis of the General Welfare Committee, representing the Gen-- I eral Authorities. President Daniel S. Frost were Ddell Watson, Pres. E. Jay whiting Jr., and Von Del Cham-ctioreturned from the Northern California Mission. Music for the conference was by the Singing Mothers of Ka nab North, Kanab South, and Fredonia Wards, conducted by Maurine C. Jones and accompanied on the organ by Zelma J. Johnson. Elder Longden sang a vocal solo. Congregational sing ing was directed by Mason Cot-taStake Music Director. Preliminary organ music was by Zelma J. Mc- I Ground Clearing Starts9 For Bank Bldg. y Clifton Young and Carlyle Kitchen started work Wednesday on clearing the trees off the LeGrande Hamblin land on East Center Street, that will house the Salina Bank building and the eastern half of the lot that has been purchased by the Utah Oil Co. The two men, with a lot of sidewalk superintendents, made short work of removing the big trees that have stood for many years, on the property. Construof the Bank building Is believed to be near. Plans for the Utah Oil property have not been disclosed as yet.
