Hudgens arraignment set BOUNTIFUL Steven Ray Hudgens, 48, will be arraigned Sept. 23 on multiple charges in Second District Court. Hudgens is being held on charges including driving under the influence, unsafe lane travel, driving with a denied drivers license and no proof of insurance after hitting three bicyclists on Highway 89 in Fruit Heights last May. Hudgens will go before Judge Darwin C Hansen in Farmington. Six bicyclists were northbound on Highway 89. As they were passing Carrie Lane on the right side of the merge lane, Hudgens, also traveling north, moved into the merge lane, hitting three of the cyclists. Brian Carolsen, 29, Layton , was airlifted in critical condition to the University of Utah Medical Center. Maikel Wise, 30 and Brooke Ann Mickelson, 27, both of Ogden were taken to McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden. Carolsen was at Tuesdays preliminary arraignment where he said he hoped to get Hudgens off the road to prevent another similar accident.
