Show P• 4 • ~ Summerbird • July 6, 1992 CO~iE .A ND BE A P.ART OF S UU'S 'THUNDERBIRD' NEWSpaper is in need of people who would like to be part of a grand tradition, an award-winning newspaper staff that serves the student body of Southern Utah University and provides not only valuable and great experience for "the outside world:' but also a great experience while learning. The Thunderbird is a training ground for journalists and all who wish to work within a group and learn a multitude of skills from writing to computers and from decisionmaking to getting along with co-workers from varied backgrounds. U THE THUNDERBIRD STAFF NDER "REAL WORLD" CONDitions, our staff members enjoy the luxury of student status, wherein two newspapers per week provide realistic experience without the pressure of everyday journalism. This year ~e'll be producing the paper o n state-of-the-art equipment, including Macintosh Quadra 700s and Powerbook 170s running highresolution scanner and laser-Output. For this and many reasons, serving on the newspaper can be a useful tool in the growth of any individual, no matter what your major or interest might be. U LTIMATELY, WORK ON THE paper provides staff members with great experience, and a sense of pride. Reporters and photographers have the opportunity to cover a wide range of campus events and issues and have fun along the way. We're in need of new staff members for fall and whether you're interested in sports, arts and entertainment, or news, there's a need for you to fill, and we can fill a need in you.
