Thirty SUU student-athletes, including 10 representing women's track & field, have been named to the Mid-Continent Conference's Spring Academic-AllConference squad. To earn a position on the squad, student-athletes must maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, must have lettered in their sport during the past season and must have competed for the school for at least two seasons. Sophomore Stephanie Garr, a track & field athlete from Grand Fords, North· Dakota, led the way with a 3.963 GPA in biology, while softball's Emily Cederholm Ounior, South Jordan/Bingham HS) posted a 3.842 in psychology, Carolina Ferrandez-Asensi, a senior tennis player from Alicante, Spain, posted a 3.761 in business and Kyle Rowley a sophomore on the track & field squad had a 3.729 in chemistry. Cederholm, Ferrandez-Asensi and Rowley were also named to their . respective sport's all-conference squads. · we are very happy for and proud of the student-athletes who were selected to the squad," SUU Director of Athletics Jack Bishop said. "We're very proud of the academic success our athletes have had and it's great to see so many of them on the all-conference team . We've had one of the best overall seasons in the history of the ·school, and these academic honors are icing on the cake for us.· In addition to the 10 women's track & field athletes, SUU had six representatives from the men's track & field team , six from women's basketball, three each from softball and golf and two from tennis selected to the team.
