More than 50 people packed the Student Conference Room for the senate "open forum," which is held at the beginning of each regularly scheduled meeting in order to give students at large an opportunity to express concerns or questions to senators. Several individuals representing a variety of organizations spoke in favor of their proposals before the body. Garret Gunderson, a sophomore business major from Price, Utah, and senator-elect for the college of Business, Technology and Communication, spoke in favor of Sigma Chi saying, "Our Derby Days week is an excellent opportunity for the entire campus... and also to raise significant and badly needed funds for some really great charities."
