The last nai l has been hammered, the last hem has been stitched, and th e work of over 300 people is being enjoyed by the first of this season's 130,000-plus patro ns. Michae l Cox, after attending o ne of th e performances, sa id, "I km.:w it would be excell ent- it always is- but l had no idea it wo uld he thi s good." " T he cou rt ya rd around the Adams Shakespearean Th ea tre has been alive with theatre goers attending the fi rst performances of th is season's six shows- Pericles, Twelfth N 1xht, and llenry Vin the Adams T heatre and Hamlet, Charley's Aunt, and The Boy Friend in the Randall L. Jones Th eatre. Surrounded by the sounds of tart sellers hawking thei r wares and Grecnshow perform ers entertai ning, Renaissance style, t he patrons leaf through their playbi ll s, an ti cipating a beau tiful evening watching · Shakespeare under the stars. The Festiva l's opening gala, "Shakespeare Unmasked, " was a grea t success on Friday night. This year's gala in cluded a tribute honoring Gerald R.
