These individuals are trained for jobs at the Skills Center in an area suitable to their aptitude and the job market. While a trainee is at the Skills Center he will receive a "stipend" allowance to aid in his living expenses. At least 40 Model Neighborhood unemployed or underemployed residents will be served directly by the project to increase the vocational-related- , pre-vocationa- l, basic OUTREACH, JOB COUNSELING, JOB DEVELOPMENT and FOLLOW-U- P This project is intended to recruit, secure data, provide a job oriented training plan, assist in job placement, and the monitoring through follow-u- p of the unemployed and underemployed located in the Model Neighborhood. An estimate of this target group is 3.500 of which approximately 1 .500 have applications currently on file with Employment Security.
