Only playoffs, if there are County any, will follow Friday games prior to Class A quarter fin- als Skyline solved the Region Three riddle last week by deto win feating Granger, 20-0, its quarterfinal berth - a slot that went to Olympus last season The Eagles wind up their season Friday hosting Magna where the Cyprus High School football team will attempt to gain their first win of the season Skyline now has a 0 won-lo- st record for the season with Olympus close on its heels 5-- with a while defeating Granger in the Lancer's final game of the season but the Eagles to make it six straight want Fri- - day when they host Cyprus on the Eagle field. The victory over Granger last week was berth-clinchi- directed ng Skylines quarterback David Knudse n who passed and ran by 175-pou- nd well with his backfield teammates. The giant Skyline line dwarfed Grangers game linemen and provided Knudsenand his runners with plenty of running room all afternoon. But though Skyline found it possible to grind out yardage on the ground, Knudsen the game Granger line by passing for two of Sky line's touchdowns while running the other for himself. While Knudsen and his offensive teammates take the bows for the three touchdowns which accounted for the difference, it was the strong Eagle line that won the praise of the coaching staff which mentioned that Skyline has not been scored upon in the last three league games. Knudsen s scoring strikes came on five and 10 yard efforts with the first going to fullback Jed Aldridge for five yards and the second coming on a toss to Roger Healy. When Knudsen decided to score on the ground he took it himself... Skyline coaches were quick to praise the Eagle defense that contained Grangers John Davis, Dan Lemke and quarterback Ron Mendenhall. In the Jordan School district side of Region Three, defeatei Memorial Judge Tooele by a 14 -- 7 margin. Bingham High Schools tough Minei entry blasted Jordan by oneoi the largest scores in the history of the two schools, 42-- 0, and Murray defeated Hillcrest 19-- The division's action left Judge Memorial on top, Bingham in second place with a won-lo- st tied record . Tooele in third with Jordan, Murray and Hillcrest bringing up the last half of that league. 2-- South lost to Davis to give winning East and Highland a chance for a spot in Region Twos Division Two. Highland must defeat South on the Cub field if East is to realixe any hope though East must first (Division Two) Woo Lost Tied East West get over its arch rival West if they are to qualify for play in the possible playoff.
