While doing handstands in the room of the BYU swim- ming pool, he was discovered by Dave Waters, BYU gymnast. For two months now, he has been training under the direction of Dave Waters and Phil Shurtleff, gymnast and Universe photographer respectively. Many of the Y gymnastic team members have given him instruction. BYU IF HE CONTINUES to progress as he has done, he'll eventually be a top gymnast, said Richard Nicholas, who is a member of the Y team and WAC Conference gymnaschampion in tics. But, it is to be noted, that the further you progress up the competitive ladder, the harder it is to reach the next rung. Wayne, only 13, is already going all-arou- of U. places.
