The wrestling team won their first match in seven years, over Springville. One of the wrestlers, who is also a famous actor, three times over, once in drama, once in dancing poetry and humor, and once in vile impersonation of the helpless insane, took ninth in the state. Billy Miller of the Wildcats also smashed in a big homer. The following day, the Wild cats came up against Spanish Fork, and edged over them with in a game full of a score of outstanding defensive play. The next game brought the team up against Pleasant Grove in the Timp Ball Park. The Wildcats took the lead early in the game and the Vikings were unable to overtake them. This brought the second Wildcat victory with a 2-- score of 5-- 4. The next ball club to come up against the Wildcats were the Padres of St. Francis. This was rather a disappointing game for the Wildcats with them receiving a loss with a score of During the game thirteen Wildcat men were left on base. In the last game of the season, the Wildcats were defeated by American Fork with a score of This victory over the Wildcat team brought A.F. the region Seven Championship. The Wildcat scoring was led by Finn Christensen who smashed in a home 6-- 2. We wont mention the basketball team, except to mention they took state, and it wouldnt be appropriate for the occasion to say more on the subject. A few things cant be overlooked, however. Actually, after beating a team, for revenge, in the state finals by the same score they beat you preseason, up in their territory would leave only one real loss for the season. This one at the expense of Murray. They could say, then ,that they are the only team in the state that played us without losing. In his game, not skipping any minor details, the Wildcats two top players slept in, until the second half started. BY 1 High held, at one time, a lead during the first half. Since the silver sleuth duo didnt have two quarters warm up, to pour on their usual explosion, Murray, we could say, lucked out. We could beat any team in the state 28-1- during the third quarter. The depth, even with the losses of our previous years starting center and two top prospect guards, was as good, if not better, than any in the state, A schools primarily in the line of thinking. year, is UNDEFEATED. The track team, had it had a little more participation from all the boys of the school could have been tops in the county. As it was they had only the best medley relay team in the county the best miler in the region, the second best javelin thrower in the county, the second best half miler in the region and the third best high hurdler in the region. A blonde headed genius, for BY High, wil ltake state in tennis, we hope, even thoguh he lost to a Lehi High guy. He is even with this high guy, at three games apiece. We say a high guy from Lehi High, because he beat that kid in the Region Seven finals. BY High was picked not to go to state, owing to their dual match meets, before the deciding Region Seven contest. Two sophomores from Pleasant Grove, plus two ninth graders from BY High and a senior from the Wildcats, a short dreamy one, wholl be out of office within a week, changed the situation. BY High is going to state in tennis. For more information contact Clark Gable. Baseball is the sport, which this writer has been trying to put off until he finds out the results of the season final against the future state champs, American Fork. He hasnt found out yet. Lets hope he finds out before he hands this in tomorrow morning. Its already 1:30 a.m. of that morning. The players, who started playing baseball this spring, were deciding to take state.
