LETTERMEN: Its still too early to be sure about details, but we know our boys are going to come through the basketball season rated as one of the most outstanding teams in the state. LADY ESTHER had a PONDS personality. It was al- ways engaging. Her skin was SUNKIST, (like an orange), her hair was like DURA GLOSS (it stuck to the point). Her shape1 was like 1 the well-kno- w cigarette. It was late afternoon and LADY ESTHER was getting ready for an EVENING IN PARIS with her fiancee PRINCE MATCHEBELLI and dreaming of a BLUE WALTZ at the IIITZ. LADY ESTHER DREETed downstairs with the LIFE BOUYancy of a happy woman. As she got to the dining room the Italian cook, MAX FACTOR came in and announced IPANA CAKE, it will be done for dinner. At that moment PRINCE MATCHEBELLI ran PALL MALL into the LIBBYing room and looking at her he said You look lovely tonight, EUREKA. She replied You dont smell so good yourself. WHEAT HEART, youre the mush of mv life, he replied, SIERRA PINE for you? Tiring of his fiery remarks, she said Anybody got some UNGENTINE? and then she retired to her room, quick as a QUINK. Just as she got there she heard a noise outside and DASIIing to her window she saw a handsome CAVIALLIER climbing jip the lattice work like IVORY. He stepped over her balcony and introducing himself as DON JUAN he said I came by way of the COLGATE across the AVON. Not knowing her name he said May I hold your PALM- OLIVE? LADY ESTHER being wary of the stranger said Not on your LIFEBUOY! He then handed her the FOUR ROSES he had brought. Relenting a little, she pinned one in her hair just PABST her BLUE RIBBON. So when he asked her to go with him to Paris she sailed on silver WINGS to get her CHESTERFIELD (for the night air was rather COOL) and reluctantly consented. In Paris they joined Dons friends. One named TOM COLLINS greeted her with a jolly HALO, to which she re- February. National Drama week comes in February, and will last from the 7th to the 15th. The High School get first choice and the Junior High takes the left overs. They want us to come and cheer for them but they dont want us to participate in the victory dances after the games. They tell us to wait until we grow up and are in Senior High then we can play after work. Maybe the Junior High had better wait to cheer at games and show school spirit, too. ANNUAL SKATING PARTY A SUCCESS Most of the students of B Y high managed to in some way gather enough equipment together to enable them to attend the Y high skating party, January 1947. Three bus loads of students left the high school building at 2:30 p.m. for Utah Lake. Once on, the skates flew in every direction as members of the party glided about on the ice. Dick Bigelow was present with his camera, ever ready to snap a picture of any unusual pose, and was kept busy by those less fortunate people who found the sport harder than it looked. Games of tag were played, and lines of crack the whip started by some of the teachers. A new means of transportation was introduced by Bob Smith, Paul Freebarin, and Harold Erikson, who returned to the habits of their younger days by riding a stick horse around. Although Dave would not let the basketball boys join in the fun, many of them went out and stood around with a rather wistful look on their faces. Half frozen students huddled around a fire built on the west side of the skating area, fearful that the stiff toes and fingers would never again be of any use. About 7:00 p.m. the last bus returned to Provo with a cargo of tired but happy Y students. |
