He has his warehouse near the Duchesne river bridge. Turkeys Look Good The outlook for the turkey in. distry in the Myton section is encouraging. NI Cooper of Mytton has been appointed crop observer for Duk chesne county for the Agricultural foundation index. The appointment has been announced from Chicago by P. V. Ewing, director of research. Sears-Roebuc- Road Duchesne-Myto- n It will be of interest to the readers of the Uintah Basin Farmer to know that the construction of the FederaLaid road is moving along in a satisfactory manner. Six miles of it has been graded on the Antelope end of the unit. They are now surfacing the same preparatory to putting on a finishing coat otf gravel. The rock crusher is now running. The bridge at Anitelope is nearly completed, a new camp has been established near the city limits of Myton and grading is being done in that section. S. F. Mortson (who owns a ranch on the North Myton bench recently brought his crop of alfalfa seed to the Uintah Basin Growers' plant. From 36 acres he had 160 sacks or about 21,000 pounds, an average of 600 pounds to the acre. W. H. Auitman of Steamboat Springs, Colo., was in Myton recently and purchased sufficient alfalfa seed from George Tingley and Sons acres in that to plant thirty-fiv- e section of Colorado. J. W. Carlson, who has charge of the experiment station at Fort Duchesne, spent some time in Myton and vicinity recently, making final inspection for this year of certified seed fields. C. T. Biggs, who resides one mile south of Myton, has a appli orchard on his ranch which is said to be the best in the Uintah Basin.. Thi3 year he picked about 1200 bushels. He had all of the standard varieties. Several of the stores in Myton handle his crop and what they do not take in the fall he stores in cellars for demand later in the season. Farm Bureau Meeting Held Piccalilli The Duchesne county farm bureau held a mass meeting Wednesday ev ening in Myton. in the office of the Uintah Basin Seed Growers Assn, plant. L. E. Potter, president of the farm bureau presided, Ioka, Up. alco, Midview, Red Cap, Roosevelt and Myton were represented. The purpose of teh meeting was to formulate plans ito secure a better price for their seed.
