The last trick or treater has al- . ready finished all the candy and is developing new cavities in his .teeth. And the once smiley jack-- . still sits on the porch .with a moldy mouth, looking . more like a holiday casualty. But you still may have some pumpkins left around the house for decoration and youre trying to decide what is the best way to use the overgrown squash. Here is an easy way to enjoy it throughout the year. Cut it into fairly uniform pieces, place it in a pressure cooker with Vi inch water under the rack. Cook it under piessure for minutes, depending on 5-- the size of the pieces. Allow the cooked pumpkin to cool for ease in handling. The skin is easily removed from the flesh with a knife. The resulting pumpkin is usually quite heavy with water which you will want to squeeze or press out for best results in your recipes. This may be done simply be- tween the hands or with a large spoon. Next, put small amounts of the cooked pumpkin into your blender until it is smooth. It can then be placed in freezer containers allowing a little room for expansion, labeled and frozen until the urge arises for one of the following recipes. Sex in Advertising Now More Blatant Its not new for advertisers to use women and sex to sell products, but it is becoming more prevalent in all types of ads and more blatant, a Weber State College history professor said. Dr. Gene A. Sessions said, I make no judgements only that a person ought to be aware of whats going on. If you dont realize thats why youre buing cosmetics and clothes then youre in trouble. well-educat- The WSC professor spoke to a group consisting mostly of wom en. The lecture was sponsored by the Womens Educational Re- source Center and addressed the image of women in magazine and newspaper advertisements. He told the group that women are used as sex objects even to the point where now advertisers are willing to sell mens stuff with womens bodies. Dr. Sessions said, Some advertisers and photographers are very willing to use nudity to sell products. He said that blatant nudity is becoming mor.e evident, but is still not as pervasive as the selling of the perfect feminine form. No blemish, not a mole, not even an eyelash is out of place. We see what appears to be perfection, thats what is being sold and were lead into believing that buying those products will make us perfect, Dr. Sessions said. He noted that Federicks of Hollywood uses artists drawings instead of photographed models because the artist can create a perfected form that is very unlikely in reality. Prepare House for Safer Winter ! BOUNTIFUL Winter is coming and Bountiful City Fire Department is recommending fire, prevention and safety measures. Store all outside furniture and other items used for summer fun in a safe place. If stored in a garage or shed, store the items so they can be removed in a hurry. Also, they should be stored so that no one will trip over or run into items accidentally. Someone could fall in a shed and not be noticed for awhile, delaying much needed help, firemen say cracks and holes and also that the damper and screen "work. Inspect, clean filters, check for leaks, damaged belts, and be sure to keep parts properly oiled Make sure your fireplace is also safe, firemen advise. Be sure the chimney is clear, that the floor of the fireplace is solid with no Also, make sure that stove inserts are safe. Buring wood in these stoves is different from a fireplace. You do not have the full draft of a fireplace, thus the stove burns slower and hotter. The message, he said, is that women are not complete Until the thing they are waiting for happens. He said Im not trying to anyone or say that its wrong to buy a product and be as pretty as you can.
