Show I 4C Lakeside Review South, Wednesday, Department Closes the Heidelberg FARMINGTON- - The Heidelberg restaurant will not be reopened due to default of a bank note by the former owner and a court case for violation of public health law. Thomas Bachman, previous owner of the business and property, agreed Friday to pay a $200 fine to the Davis County Precinct Court for violating a public health order. Bachman was scheduled for trial Friday morning at the Second District Court for the charges but Judge Douglas Cornaby granted the defendant a motion to dismiss after he agreed to pay the fine. On May 10, a jury panel had found Bachman guilty of violation of a public health order in Judge Dean Andersons precinct court. The jury charged Bachman with willfully continuing to operate a food service establishment after his permit was suspended. The restaurant had received low health inspection scores for some months before it was finally closed down on January 4, said Mark Andrus, the deputy county attorney handling the case. The county health department inspected the restaurant again on December 14, 16, and 22. The owner was then told he had until December 29 to comply with county health standards, Andrus said. On the 29, the health department closed the Heidelberg down, but Bachman reopened and continued the restaurant. On January 4, the restaurant was again closed down. This time Bachman did not reopen. As I understand it, the restaurant is no longer a viable business, Andrus said. The present owners BATiHlSBEeiffUS of the eight acres of land, Terry Gross and Garth Naylor, say they will sell the 2 acre building and property. They sold the property to Bachman five years ago, but had previously owned and operated the Heidelberg since 1961, when it first opened. Versa-Cov- SHOWER PACKAGE s Layton Only.
