Show National Awards Presented 'J v, x KAYSVILLE Elder Daniel L. Nielson, son of Dr. Joseph L. and Nanetter C. Nielson, has 'A been called to serve in the Lisbon Portugal LDS Mission. Prior to his June 9 departure for the Mission Training Center, Elder Nielson will speak at the Crestwood LDS Chapel in Kaysville on Sunday, May 22, at 8:30 a.m. Friends and family are invited to meet with the missionary at his home following the meeting. A member of the Kaysville Crestwood LDS 20th Ward, the new missionary has een attending Brigham YOUng University. He is a graduate of Davis David Hunt and Tammie Hamblin were nominated for A1 Keime, history teacher at the school. Their names will appear in the United States Achievement Academy Official Yearbook. David is a son of Harley and Karin Hunt. Tammie is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Hamblin. The academy selects winners on the recommendation of teachers, coaches or counselors and on the standards set by the academy. The criteria for selection are a students academic performance, interest and aptitude, leadership qualities. Morris reflecting on his new position as academic vice president for the Associated Students of Weber State College. He is a son of Sterling J. and Barbara Morris of 3943 S. 2275 W., Roy. He is a junior majoring in accounting. The new academic vice president is a member of Sigma Gamma Chi, a fraternity at Weber State. He has been active in student activities serving as Wad-doup- s, parade chairman for homecoming. He is a graduate of Roy High School where he was first vice president and participated in marching band and choir. While Morris is in office he wants to strengthen the Academic Senate.
