Although the new $100,000 facility has been open for business for the past few weeks, the formal open house will be from 1 to 6 p.m. A Monday. ribbon-cuttin- g ceremony with Green River Mayor Blaine Silliman will begin at 7 p.m. Speaker at the special ceremony will be Emery County Library Board member Pearl Baker. Representatives from the Utah State library and other county and local dignitaries will attend. Mrs. Baker, author of several books and articles, will also be featured throughout the day along with another local author, Steve Lacey. The theme of the day will be Butch Cassidy and the outlaw era. Beginning at 2 p.m., both authors will lecture to school children on Utah history. They will feature interesting artifacts and memorabilia including an original Butch Cassidy wanted poster. The public is invited to sit in on the lectures. Also invited to attend is Green River native, A.C. Ekker, who was featured in National Geographic Magazine in 1976. Ekker, an authority on Butch Cassidy, owns several personal artifacts of the famous southeastern Utah outlaw. Nelson, assistant Dorothy librarian, said a special invitation is issued to all former librarians to attend the open house.
