Show n ' ' ' i T X ' n'n 1 t t i i ' i Thursday, October THE GREEN SHEET Missionaries Letters to Editor Good Times With Ethel 15, 1987 'Window s Dear Ethel, Many times I've thought to write this letter, then put it off. Now here goes. I would like to tell you about my sister. Elinor (Greenfield Winberg) lived in Murray for many years, grew up there. During the Depression years she married and, with her young husband, bought a small house and raised a family. Some twenty odd years later she lost her husband. Then, her children all married and gone to homes of their own, progress took her property. She sold out and moved to a little house in Midvale. One day she said to me, I like this house, maybe even better than the old one. But, oh, I do miss the Green Sheet. Well, that was easily remedied. The Green Sheet was being delivered to my house at that time. So each week, on the following Sunday, the Green Sheet under my arm, I would drive over to Elinors house. We would spend the afternoon together, discussing many subjects, including your column, her favorite part of the paper. They were such enjoyable visits with you and 1 and Elinor seated at her kitchen table with a pot of tea and a plate of homemade cookies. W'e discussed your recipes, your pet peeves and ours, and the many other subjects you wrote about. Sometimes we were nostalgic, other times laughing, always happy. Then two years ago Elinor died. 1 miss her so much. But I always think ot her still when I read your 'Out My Window. Keep up the good work, Ethel. Sincerely, Edna Smith Luannc Lines The sc, dc and tie Brian Bearden has accepted a call to fill an LDS mission in Manchester, New Hampshire, and will enter the training center on October 21, 1987.
