Show Messenger-Enterpris- Called to Serve LDS Lisa Wintch I th ' It Kristopher Robert Tatton It was a triple celebration at Lenn and Louise Jensen Celebrate golden wedding and Lenn Louise Jensen celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family reunion on October 28th. Lenn and Louise were married on October 31, 1940 in the Manti LDS Temple. They have resided mainly in Ephraim except for a few years spent in Salt Lake City, Brigham City and Moab. Lenn was born and raised in Sterling. He graduated from Manti High School in 1939 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He farmed and operated several businesses in Ephraim. Lenn worked for 20 years as Director of Economic Development for Sanpete County, retiring from the County in 1980. He is well known throughout the state for his work in economic development and tourism. He has held positions in the LDS Church, Associated Clubs of southern and eastern Utah and several state and county committees. He has always enjoyed hunting, fishing Civic v and camping with family and friends. Louise was born and raised in Ephraim. She graduated from Ephraim High School in 1938. She worked for Mountain Bell, Snow College, Bank of Ephraim and the LDS Institute of Religion, retiring from the Institute in 1982. Louise has held numerous positions in the LDS Church and has been active in several service organizations and clubs. She received the Valentine Award from the Dan Valentine Column in 1966. Louise has always enjoyed outdoor activities with family and friends and is an avid golfer. Lenn and Louise are the parents of three sons, Lenn Jr. (dec.); Max, wife Janis, of Moab; and Brent, wife Mary, of West Valley City. They have five grandchildren (Jay Stocks), Justin, Kristin, Brandon and two Jeff; and greatAmanda grandchildren Stephen Stocks. and - the home of Jim and Kristine Tatton on Monday, Oct. 22, 1990 as a new baby brother came to share the same birthday with two of his sisters, Kirsten and Heidi. The new son weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz. and was born in the Juab County hospital in Nephi that day. He will be named Kristopher Robert. Two others sisters Aimee and Robyn and two brothers Michael and David (now serving a mission) helped with the birthday celebration as as well grandparents, Bob and Dorothy Stoddard, Ephraim and Lynn and Sue Tatton, Manti. The girls birthdays were observed with a dinner at the Tatton home on She weighed 8 lbs. Grandparents are Sandra and Mike Kempf, Las Vegas. Hallie is the 8th greatgrandchild for Ray and Lenore Lyons of Ephraim. Mary and Calvin Kempf of Las Vegas are the other Aaron Ray Sorensen boy for Neil and Kimberley Sorensen. The new baby was welcomed on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 1990 at the Sanpete Valley Hospital in Mt. Pleasant and weighed 7 lbs. He will be named Aaron Ray. A three year old sister Ashley is getting acquainted with her new brother. Pleased grandparents are Steven and Judy Madsen, Ephraim and Lee Ray and Venice Sorensen, Spring City. Lila Jensen is the babys great-grandmothe- r. Hallie Oustendorp Hallie is the name chosen for the new little daughter at the home of Trade and Travis Oustendorp of Las Vegas, Nevada. The baby is a first child Christena Wintch is honored Christena Wintch, daughter Barbara Wintch of her Young received Manti, Woman Recognition Award on Sunday, October 14. She was Junior Class President last year and Vice President of the National Honor Society this year at Manti High School. Christena plays the cello, and is active in sports. P&ge 5 young WomenHood Recognition Siward Missions Lisa Wintch, daughter of John and Barbara Wintch of Manti has accepted a call to serve in the Tacoma, Washington LDS Mission. She will leave November 5th for the mission field, where she will serve a standard mission. The baby is the son of Mark and Rhonda Seely Berry of Moroni and was bom Aug. 8, 1990 in the Sanpete Valley Hospital in Mt Pleasant He is the first child for Mark and Rhonda and the 6th grandchild for Carol and Bill Seely of Mt. Obituaries Utahna De Leeuw Mortensen Leeuw De Utahna Mortensen, age 63 of Orem died October 20, 1990 at her home in Orem from complications of Myelofibrosis. She was bom April Utah the William of and daughter Christina Andersen De Leeuw. 16, 1927 in Lyman, She married Leo Elmer Mortensen October 3, 1949, in Manti, Utah. She moved with her parents to Ephraim and attend the Ephraim City Schools. After her marriage they made their first home in Manti and moved to Provo in 1956 and in 1960 they moved to Orem. She was employed at Almos Cleaners and later at One Hour Martinizing in Orem as manager. She was a member of the LDS Church. She was also a member of the Good Sams Trailer Club for the past seven years. Her included: Quilting, gardening and traveling. She is survived by her husband, Leo Elmer Mortensen of Orem; Four daughters: Mrs. Mark (Joan) Hauzen of Orem; Mrs. David (Judy) Olson and Mrs. Shirl (Susan) Larsen, both of Springville and Mrs. Wesley (Barbara) Smith of Provo; 19 grandchildren and two brothers: Byron De Leeuw of Kearns and NeffDe Leeuw of Ephraim. She was proceeded in death by a son Gary Wayne Mortensen and one brother and two sisters: Andrew De Leeuw, Marie Clements and Romania De Leeuw. Funeral services were held October 24, in Orem, Utah.
