Pleasant Ward and a reception thateveningattheMoroni Stake Center. Kathy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glade J. Livingston, Moroni. The parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Dan Anderson, Mt. Pleasant. Mr. and Mrs. Hayley Anderson, Ephraim, are grandparents of the groom. The bride is a graduate of North Sanpete High School and of Snow College. She has been attend! ngUtah State University where she is majoring in early childhood education. The bridegroom is a graduate of North Sanpete High School and has served an LDS mission in Rochester, New York. He served with the 1457th Engineer Battalionin Germany during Desert Storm. The couple will be making their home in Ephraim where Dallen will be attending Snow College. Open Houses Reception is Saturday David and Beverly (Mounteer) Call, of Manti, were married Sat. Dec. 14, 1991 in the Manti LDS Temple. Their parents, Max and Beth Call and Jacque and Bud Mounteer, invite their friends and friends of their families to attend a reception in their honor to be held Saturday, January 11, 1992 in the Manti Stake Center, 295 South Main from 7 until 9 p.m. Birthdays of Note other grandma and grandpa (George and Olive Osmond) are anxious to see me. They are in St. George. I have three more brothers, Ben, Matt, and Geoff and one more sister, AnMaree, that live in Orem. I am lucky a because Ihave a Olson. Steel Magnolias, the first Snow College theatrical production of 1992, will take the stage at the Crane Theatre January 80th birthday, January 11. Boyd was born Jan. 1, 1912 in Nephi, Utah. He is the son of George and Maysel Ingram Goble. He grew up in Nephi, attending schools and the first part of his married life there. 1. Boyd married Ruth Draper Sept. 8, 1937. They were sealed in the Manti Temple Dec. 18, 1939. They are the parents of three children: Boyd Earl (Margaret) Goble, Gunnison; Dorothy Richin (Jerry) Moroni; Vern Alan Goble (deceased). He has 11 grandchildren and 18 greatgrandchildren. He served in World War II in the Asiatic Pacific and is a member of VFW. He attended the Salt Lake Barber College. He moved to Ephraim in 1949,barbered with Newel Cherry for four years, then went into business for himself. While working for himself, Boys has made a practice of missionaries a freehair-cu- t prior to their departure. He has a list of over 400 names, to whom he has given haircuts. He has gone to many homes and the hospital cutting hair for the sick and always at no charge. He has been active in city and LDS Church positions: three S Boyd V. Goble years as president of Ephraim Business Association; Elder Quorum presidency in one position or another for many years; two years on a South Sanpete Stake mission; in Snow College bishopric as finance clerk;presi-denc- y of Sunday School; secrefor tary high priests groupjhome teacher for many years. He attended Snow College for two years in Business and graduated from college LDS Seminary Institute. He has always loved to hunt and fish. Friends attended a party at his home on New Years Eve, singing happy birthday when the New Year came. He received many cards and calls. Boyd has always had a great love for his family and friends. Concerned with a group of gossipy southern ladies, the play is both hilarious and touching. In the end, the play also turns out to be deeply reveali ng of the strength and purposefulness which underlies all the crazy antics of these charming, unforgettable women. This play will have you laughing one minute, and crying the next. A superior play by one of the theatres best new playwrights, Robert Harling. Cast members have been working hard over the holiday season to bring together this touching play. Curtain time each evening is 8 p.m. in the Crane Theatre on the campus of Snow College. Karen is a graduate ofManti High School and Snow College. Karen Nielson Brian Baker Elder Brian G. Baker has been called to serve in the Washington D.C. South Mission. He is the son of Pam and Roger Baker of Ephraim. Prior to his mission assignment he attended Snow College. He is a Manti High School graduate. Brian will be speaking in ing. Jan. 12, they have arfor two special speakers ranged to talk to them, both of whom are in touch with youth and their problems. The speakers are Sam DeLeeuw, a juvenile probation officer, and Deputy Sheriff Rick Howe, a Sanpete On sacrament meeting in the County Deputy Sheriff. Tibbs, of the Sixth Judicial District Court, will be the speaker at Friday Forum on January 10, 1992 at 12:30 p.m., at the Ephraim LDS Institute of Religion. The title of his talk will be, Views From The Bench." The public is invited to attend. Rannock Purcell 45 Rannock Purcell, son ofCarl and Nan Purcell, of Manti, has been called to the Idaho, Boise Mission. He is very excited for this opportunity to share the gospel with the people of Idaho and Oregon. Rannock is a graduate of Christian Liberty Academy and of the Manti LDS seminary. He has been attending Snow College this year and plans on making a career in music. One of his goals is to write songs to help the youth of the LDS Church. Rannock will enter the MTC on January 22, 1992. All leaders for Cubs, Blazer Scouts, Scouts, Varsity and Explorers should be present Final plans will be made for the Scout and Blazer Scout Kondike Derby which will be held Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15. The Varsity Scout and Explorer Biathlon will be held on Saturday, January 25. Special information will also be provided for this activity. As this is such an important meeting, all leaders should be in attendance to receive the information about these special activities. k A wide range of musical entertainment will highlight this years annual Leg- islative Dinner sponsored by the Utah Press Association and its member daily and weekly newspapers. The Dinner will be held Wednesday, January 22 at Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City. The reception begins at 6:30 P.M. featuring accomplished performer Gordon Ottley on piano. Mr. Ottley is president of American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (Local 1004). He began his singing career when he was Oi Jy Three years old and has performed in a variety of theatrical productions throughout the Intermountain West. Most recently, Mr. Ottley appeared in "Pump Boys and Dinettes" in Park City, and he also served as musical director for Park City Performances' 10th Anniversary Gala. Dinner will be served at 7:30 followed by a country musical review performed by a Park City theatrical group, "Cactus Jack's," currently appearing at "Z Place," under the musical direction of Mr. Ottley and produced by Dave Sturges. m II Utah Press Association Executive Director Janice Keller said the Legislative Dinner offers a perfect occasion for legislators and heads of state to mingle in a relaxed atmosphere with newspaper publishers.
