Show Page 2, Gunnison NewsEphraimManti, Thursday.September 29, 1994 Youth Ballet program will begin in area Thanks Gunnison! My two young sons and I were on our way back to Bountiful from a camping trip. As we approached Centerfield the engine check light suddenly came on and my car coasted to a stop. Sometime after we had given up hope in trying to get it started, a Highway Patrolman stopped and gave us a ride into Gunnison. We found a gas station open but the attendant could not contact any available mechanics. back to our car, After hitch-hikin- g it and trying to start again, we were about to give up hope of getting home that evening. Alocalrcsidentstopped to assist and ask if we knew that the owner of the Ford dealership lived just up the street and that if he was home perhaps he could give us some suggestions on what to do about our car (it being a Ford). I didnt have much hope of finding anyone home on a Sunday, especially it being the Labor Day weekend. However, Mr. and Mrs. Jaun Larson were on their patio talking to a friend. After I told them of my predicament, Juan did something for me that I will ever be grateful for. he took us to his dealership and loaned us one of his dealership cars; he told me not to worry about my car that he would have it towed in and find out what was wrong with the care when they opened Tuesday. I want to publicly thank those who stopped to ask if they could assist us. The Highway Patrolman for giving us a ride into Gunnison, the gas station attendant for trying to find help for us, the couple who gave us a ride back to Centerfield and gave my boys a popsicle, for Howard at the dealership who later in the week kept me informed on the status of my car. But especially to Juan and his wife for having trust and compassion for us and making sure we got home okay. Thanks again to all who assisted, Dwight Blackburn, Bountiful, Utah The Kosan Youth Ballet will begin a professional ballet education in Gunnison for our youth, ages four and up, on Thursday, October 4th.
