Monte Bona, a member of the Sanpete County Heritage Council, added Using the Internet to broadcast the festival is just one example of the ways in which small towns are using technology to spread their message to a larger audience. Bona, who also sits on the Mt. Pleasant City Council, likened the Internet to the coming of the railroad in the 1 890s. A century later, the Internet is reviving rural areas like the coming of the railroad did, he said. Now, businesses can be anywhere. People can relocate from Los Angeles, or New York to a your own with Your dog. STEEL SHEETS , OPPORTUNITIES FOR EMPLOYMENT ptaSna Bona says many county businesses are jumping on the Infori mation Super Highway, designing web pages and promoting events electronically. For example, many of the vendors along the Craft Corridor, a chain of historic businesses, museums and tourist sites which will run along U.S. Highway 89 from Fairview to the Arizona border, have web sites, and their wares are sold and publicized on the World Wide Web. Evans says organizers hope to broadcast over the Internet again next year. During the festival, he would occasionally check the computer monitor to get a taste of audiwhat the computer-viewin- g ence was seeing. It was a wild concept. I kept thinking to myself even someone who is in a remote place like Africa could hook up and hear live music as it happens, if they have a computer, he said. INTO YOUR FUTURE!
