Show r.-- ' f'- 1980 CLEARFIELD Swans may be harvested by special permit only from Oct. 4 to Jan. 4. Deadline for swan permit applications is Sept. 5. In setting permit fees for the bobcat season Dec. 13 to Jan. 31, the Utah Wildlife Board took into consideration recommendations by the Utah Trappers Association and Big Game Hound Association representatives attending the Aug. 13 meeting. Originally, a $100 permit fee would have been required for the taking of up to four bobcats. After feedback from these groups, the board altered this regulation to $25 for each bobcat up to four bobcats. A $25 bobcat permit must be purchased by Nov. 14, entitling the permit holder to one metal tag for his first bobcat. A metal tag, affixed to the pelt when the lower jaw is surrendered at a division office, is required for marketing a pelt. Up to three additional metal tags may be purchased for $25 each at the time the pelts and lower jaws are brought into a division office. No metal tags will be issued after Feb. 4, 1981. A trapping, small game or combination license is also required depending on the method in which the bobcats are to be taken. For the first time, a season has been established for the badger and the weasel. Badgers and weasels may be taken from Oct. 1, 1980 to March 31, 1981.
