Show Page 6 A, Lakeside Review, March 5, 1981 Clearfield High Students Given Research Grants Clearfield High Twenty-fou- r CLEARFIELD School students have been awarded research grants in connection with their science fair projects. The grants are awarded by Weber State College and the Utah Junior Academy of Arts, Letters and Sciences. The student research projects are supervised and coordinated by Clearfield science teachers, LaMont Jensen and Dr. Tim Hunt. O -- WP O Lecture Program Will Aid Parents FARMINGTON Anyone interested in being a better parent is invited to attend the Be a Better Parent Fair, March 18 and 19 at 7 p.m. at the Parent Education Resource Center (PERC), Monte Vista School, 70 S. 300 E., Farmington. The lecture program is sponsored by PERC and the Parent Teacher Association. Dr. Victor Cline, University of Utah, will discuss ways parents can help their children achieve selfesteem. Cline will speak at the March 18 session. - A fee of $2 per family will be charged. Preregistration is necessary and may be obtained by ' l calling the PERC Center at U.S.D.A. CHOICE: GOLDEN SMOKED WHOLE m2 GilLIjiSS ) Li 451-507- Students in Roy Win Reflections Contest Trophies Don Fullmer and Kristen Chapman won the literature division of a Reflections in trophies contest at the North Park Elementary School in Roy. Don wrote on What My Family Means to me, and Kristen presented a poem on the same subject, as contest. part of the area-wid- e Don was first in the primary division of the contest and was followed by Tiffany Price, Karen Mayberry, Jenny Wright and Cindee Martin. In the intermediate division, Kristen was first, Nicole Cox, second; Jaimee Carlos, third, and Jennifer Anderson and Christy Richins were honorable mention. In art, the primary winners were Laurie Heslop, Erik Thompson and Stacie Newman, and Angie Newman and Lisa Judd were named honorable mention. In the intermediate division, Shana Sheen was first, followed by Lisa Gustin and Nicole Cox and Jaimee Carlos. Jennifer Anderson and Christy Richins were honorable mention. Mary Richards was the only entry in music from the primary division, while Michele Richards was first in the intermediate division, along with David Dodart, Kassie Williams, and Lori Westbrook was honorable mention. The trophies and awards were presented to the winners by Anita Weston, art; Afton Skinner, literature, and Beverly Weaver, music. First and second place winners in the primary and intermediate divisions of art, literature and music will now advance their creations to the Roy Cone which includes all elementary schools in Roy, Hooper and Kanesville. Business Class Begins Tuesday The Davis Adult High School CLEARFIELD announces a business machines-IBkey punch class which will be taught each Tuesday evening, 7 p.m. for 12 weeks at Davis High School beginning March 10. Registration for the program is Monday evening, at Davis High School.
