When we were first dating I took her fishing and she was sitting and readinga hook with her pole out in the water I was out in the w ater in my w uders easting for walleye w hen 1 saw her pole bobbing and told her she had a bite. She replied, 'OK, I'll cheek it in a minute, when I'm done with this ehapter. That was my first clue that she didn't really enjoy fishing. But Cle and Eli really like going out fishing w itli me. I am also an avid bow hunter. 1 go back to South Dakota eaeh year und go on a how hunt w ith my family. I have presented information at the resource festival in Richfield on scorpions and also taken people on night walks to spot scorpions I hope to do some of that around here. Ron Taylor already arranged for me to present a scorpion session to the boy scouts. Down ut Coral Rink I was moving rocks and saw one, I had nev er seen one before and found them fascinating. Most people think they ure deadly and dangerous, hut that is not true of most species At first my vv ife didn't w ant the scorpion in the house, but she felt sorry for me taking care of it outside, so I moved him in Well, once I had my foot in the door this led to more and more tanks filled with scorpions Once we started having kids however, the scorpions hud to move hack outside. They discovered us because the Little Sahara dunes are really crowded. When I was at Ksealante which is a satellite office of Kodachrome, I ran the park und superv ised the seasonal workers and worked vv ith the seasonal hosts I did more paperwork and it was a good transitional phase for this position This is the only place vv here the management of three parks is combined. Hopefully, well get towherewe have everything under control. Last year when Scofield was added to the operation it hrou glit a w hole new dimension. The state is streamlining operations and trying to make things more efficient. Kvcn vv ith the eiosingof the three parks they were able to move people around so they didn't have to lay anyone off Some people retired as well. We are really enjoy mg tins area and the eommumtv and neighbors They have all been over to introduce themselves. This is the first time we have lived in a tow n. At the other parks vv e liv ed in park housing The kids are used to runninguround the park and my y oungest son w ould always sit on the ATVs that belonged to the park. The other day vv e found him over at the neighbors sitting on their AT V It vv ill take some getting used to but vv e are enjoy ing being in a town und having every Ihmgciose. We used to have to make a trip to Cedar City to do our shopping which was a four hour round trip, the other day we went to Price and it didn't take all day; it was great. "My w ife also sells Mary Kay which gives her the opportunity to get out of the house. She also has an elementary degree and wants and fire grates. Some of them be ADA accessible. We will pour the pads in the next to do some substitute teaching and Cle's favorite team is the Vikings and Kli's favorite team is Denver. I wanted to push my favorite team on them, but they hav e their own opinions. The kids vv ere really excited to liv e somew here that had a sw burning pool. We have some neat state parks and they are w ell maintained. Lena Funk does a great job up to Millsite and with the camp host they do a great job. I am looking forw ard to getting more involved with the parks. I hav ent had a lot of time for that yet. Up to Millsite they have been replacing the sidew alks to the restrooms and other little projects. At Huntington we are going to begin work on seven pavilions which will have a picnic table and a 14 x 14 slab of cement We all love football w ill two-thre- months. In the e spring we will he updating and improv ing the sprinker sy stem. A boating information kiosk vv ill also be installed near the dock area. This will contain boating information, wildlife information and fishery information. These will be let ouVfor bid soon and vv ell get those in next year. "We ulso want to plant more trees in the ov erflow area. Last y ear vv hen the w ater got below the intake vv e lost some trees, because we couldn't water. This y ear w e have been able to keep watering with Jay Mark Humphrey's help. The job of these kinship caregivers is especially difficult because often they do not receive the same supports and information typically avail able to parents. In an effort to remedy this situation, a group of child and aging advocacy and research organizations has prepared Kinship Care Fad Sheets, which data and include information for all the states about where kinship earegiv ers state-specif-ic can find support services to help make their jobs easier.
