One out of every fourteen people who drink become alcoholics. There are many people who would become alcoholics if they ever took their first drink. Mr. reace emphasized that more than thiiteen billion dollar-; is spent in the United States every year on alcohol and that Utah alone spends twenty-thre- e million dollars on alcohol. In the state of Utah, there are 1),.2S known alcoholics and of this number 1,70(1 are women. Every alcoholic in Utah eftects 21 other people. Utah leads all other states in the Union in rehabilitation of alco-- h dies and spends .521 dollars of the taxpayers money for every alcoholic, the speaker and Mis.
