County clerk named vice president MURRAY Sanpete County Clerk Kristine F. Christiansen has been elected to a one-yeterm as the second vice president of the Utah Association of Counties (UAC), according to a recent press release. ar Christiansen and three other executive officers will lead a board who will determine policies and direct activities for the association. Ms. includes Her background working in county and state government for 17 years. In 1989, she was appointed county clerk and was elected in 1990, and has earned certification from the National Association of County Recorders and Clerks. She has worked with the Sanpete County Fair for 15 years and has served six years as a member of the fair board where one of her duties has been editor of the fair book. Shes also been a member of the Council and county coordinator for the Japanese exchange program. 4-- H "Kristine has worked in the assessors office as well as in her present capacity as an elected official, so she has broad experience that will be invaluable to the association," said L. Brent Gardner, UAC Executive Director. "Because of her background and experiences, she will be heavily involved in the issue of secondary court location which affects 10 to 12 of our counties." UAC is a voluntary, statewide organization operated by Utahs 29 counties which was formed 70 years ago to help counties provide effective county government to Utahns. e.
