PLEASANT A second attempt will be made by the North Sanpete School District Board of Education to pass a school bond package during a special election Tuesday, Aug. 31. Qualified, registered voters residing within the North Sanpete School District can vote between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Indianola residents vote at John Biglers residence, 9275 N. 220 W., Fairview; Mt. Funds from the proposed $5.5 million bond; scaled back from last winters defeated $5.8 mil lion request, would be used for a new elementary school in Fountain Green ($1,658,223), to add classrooms and rooms to the high school and middle school ($1,861,947 and $860,293 respectively), add onto multi-purpo- Mt. Pleasant se Elementary ($421,606) and rebuild Moroni Elementary ($669,941, plus the $790,000 insurance settlement). About $2.6 million remains on a former general obligation bond for previous building projects (until the year 2000) which with the will not be proposed bond package, should it pass. The proposed bonds would be financed for 20 years beginning in 1994, but taxpayers wont notice a tax assessment increase until 1995, according to figures previously supplied by district administrator business Darin Johansen. The current tax obligation for the existing bonds is $133.36 on a $60,000 home. If tax rates and property values remain the same, the taxpayer would notice a decrease of about $1 in the 1994 assessment, then an increase of $34.38 for the new bonds in 1995, for total of $167.64. A high of $65.66 for the new bonds would be reached in 1996 (for a total of $198.92), then there would be a gradual decrease until the old bonds are retired. Estimated taxes for the same $60,000 home in the year 2000 should actually be $23.04 lower than 1993 rates (total of $110.22) and by 2014 when the final payments are made on the proposed bonds, property taxes would be $105.78, $27.48 lower than current rates. a.m.; beef fitting, showmanship and judging, 10 a.m.; hog judging, 11 a.m.; open pet show, noon; Baxter Black show at 2 p.m.; local talent show, from 4 to 7:30 p.m., and lamb sale at 5:30 p.m. The car show beings Saturday, Aug. 28 at 9 a.m. Other events include goat Saturday fitting, showmanship and judging, 9 a.m.; local talent show, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; "Cook Out King" contest at noon; truck pulls at 1 p.m.; mammoth parade at 5 p.m., and Clegg Championship Rodeo and at 8 p.m. Bull-O-Ra- Early-mornin- g prankster nabbed, invited to court MT.
