When hot meals are cooked and served at the Center, the elderly will be encouraged to come there for meals. This will keep them active and give them companionship. For those unable to come to the Center, however, the meals will still be taken to their homes. Dr. Teichert told of a new program under the direction of the County Social Services whereby an elderly person may have someone come to his home daily or semiweekly to help with cooking, cleaning or other household chores. This service allows many elderly persons to remain in their own homes instead of having to go to rest homes. It is saving a great deal of money in rest home fees, according to Teichert. officials The State and praised leaders of the Moroni Center for what has been accomplished and promised support in carrying out the aging program in this area.
