The scouting, program is just beginning with many young men coming into the mutual in various stages of a scouting program. Some of the scouts attended meetings in their own areas where they earned some ranks. However with some of the handicapped, they are not able to get the special attention and time needed to make advancements. THE NORTH Davis Area Mutual for the handicapped was organized to meet these needs. A special scouting program is used which was developed for handicapped by the national scout com mittee. Jay Smith from Layton with lots of help from his local scoutmasters and many long hours of special attention from his mother and others achieved the rank of life scout. Jay was presented this award in a special court of honor. THE ENTIRE mutual is busy learning parts and musical numbers and dances for the upcoming musical production.
