DR. CHILES completed his internship at the V.A. (Veterans Administration) in Colorado at the southeastern Colorado Mental Health Center. In 1972 he received his bachelor of arts degree from Brigham Young University, graduating with honors. Welcoming their first child, a son, are Mr. and Mrs. Bart Butterfield of Preston, Ida. The new addition arrived June 7, The new mother is the former Janette Clark. Grandparents for the first time are Mr. and Mrs. Roger Butterfield of Kaysville. The other grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Carl Clark also of Kaysville. are Mr. and Mrs. Delbert S. Stout, Mrs. Lucile Butterfield, Mr. and Mrs. George Thompson of Salt Lake City and Meta Long of Kaysville. HE HAS been employed the past seven years with the Davis County Mental Health Dept., specializing ts in child psychology. He also was an instructor at Weber State College and Brigham Young University, as well as aconsultant to Weber Basin Job Corps, Head Start Program in Davis County and first District Juvenile Court. HE ATTENDED the University of Utah, Utah Technical College and BYU. He is active as a leader in both civic and church functions and activities. He is a of the Kaysville Jaycee Chapter and spent several years in the scouting and explorers organizations for the LDS youth programs. HE AND his wife Jill are parents of four children, Jeremy, Joshua, Jessica and Jenny, np Mrs. Rebecca Ashbaker accompanied her daughter Mrs. Bonnie Voigt to Grace, Ida. where they spent Saturday visiting with Kiwanis Awards The 1984 Kiwanis Hope of America awards for sixth graders have been announced. The 1984 Freedom Leadership Awards for junior high students were presented to Chad McBride and Michele Warner of North Davis Junior High School. ANNUAL PRESENTATION of these awards at formal school assemblies is to demonstrate to the underclass students the reward and example of leadership, citizenship and friendship exhibited by these winners and for them to strive for this same performance next year. IN GIVING the award, Michael Beard, director of the Medical Technology program at Weber, cited Kevyn not only for academic achievement, but also for his pn positive influence on the program and everyone involved in it. Mr. Sears returned to school two years ago after having spent several years in construction to support his family of seven children. He graduated June 8 with a B.S. in medical technology.
