Melillo Succumbs At 56 James Charles Melillo, 56, of 173 Cushing Way, Layton, died Friday, April 27, 1984 in the Humana Davis North Medical Center. HE WAS born June 30, 1927 in New Haven, Conn., a son of and Mary Robinson Melillo On June 15, 1953 he married Lorraine Hoyt in Schenectady, New York. Pas-qua- le HE WAS reared in East Haven, Conn, and attended Connecticut public schools. He had lived in Layton for the past 18 years. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1972 as a technical sergeant. He was a member of the Marine Corps for 13 years. He had served in the Air Force for 14 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a marksmanship instructor. HE WAS a member of the Catholic Church. He was uctive in the Boy Scouts of American organization. He was a member and advisor for the Davis County REACT. SURVIVING are his wife of Layton; three sons, James C. Melillo Jr., Jeffrey D. Melillo, Jerome E. Melillo, all of Layton and one d; ughter, Jodie G. Melillo, also of Layton. Also surviving are one brother and two sisters, John Melillo of North Haven, Conn.; Mary M. Thompson, Peterborough, New Hampshire; Lillian M. Kaselaus-kas- , Kittery Point, Maine. FUNERAL services under the direction of the Lindquist Kaysville Mortuary were held Monday, April 30, 1984 in the Kaysville City Cemetery. Sherrie Adams Davis Dies In California Mrs. Sherrie Adams Davis, 42, of Newport Beach, Calif., former resident of Layton, died Friday, April 27, 1984 at her home of an extended illness. SHE WAS born Oct. 29, 1941 in Ogden, a daughter of I.W. (Dick) and Eva Riley Adams. She married Robb M. Davis on June 12, 1970 in Newport Beach, Calif. SHE HAD lived in Layton until her marriage. She was a graduate of Davis High School. She graduated from Weber State College in June of 1964. SHE HAD taught school at Crestview Elementary and Lincoln Elementary in Layton for several years. She was a volunteer teacher at Anderson Elementary in Newport Beach. SHE WAS a member of the LDS Church. She had served in the ward Primary presidency, on the stake Primary board and in many other church positions. She had an active interest in sports and had won many trophies in tennis in Newport Beach. SURVIVING ARE her husband of Newport Beach, two daughters, April Dawn Davis and Pollyanna Davis, both of Newport Beach. Also surviving are her parents of Kaysville; three sisters, Mrs. Frank (Sharon) Loomis, Mrs. Cecil (Sally) Barton, both of Layton; Mrs. Larry (Suzanne) Ray of Clearfield. FUNERAL services were held Monday, April 30, 1984 in Newport Beach. Additional services will be held Wednesday, May 2 in the Lindquist Kaysville Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be Weber Cemetery. in the West Robert Elias Burton, 86, of 36 Whitesides, Layton, died Friday, April 27, 1984 in a Clearfield nt center of causes incident to age. HE WAS born May 2, 1897 in Kaysville, a son of John W. and Malinda Jane Adams Burton. He married Hazel Lavern Lyth-go- e on Sept. 6, 1915 in Ogden. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died Jan. 5, 1970. HE MARRIED Alberta Bone Robins on June 16, 1972 in the Ogden LDS Temple. He was the superintendent of the Layton Sugar Company from 1919 until 1963. He had lived in Layton and Kaysville all of his life. Burton and Grant Eugene Burton. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May the Lindquist 1, in Kaysville Mortuary with Bishop Paul Hatch officiating. INTEkMENT was ville City Cemetery. HE SERVED two terms on the Kaysville City Council. He served on the planning commission of Kaysville and the Davis County Senior Citizens Committee. He was a member of the Layton 1st LDS Ward. He served in the Mrs. Melba McEntire w Taylor in Clearfield on Thursday. Mrs. Taylor was the wife of the late Allen A. Taylor. in the Kays- Rhonda Finn on April 14. While in four days Rapid City they visiting with former friends. Easter visitors of Bishop and Mrs. Larry Streadbeck and family were her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Mickelsen and children of Redman, Utah. Elder Shon Rowe received a mission tall to Chile. He will enter the MT C on May 24. He is a member of the Kaysville 17th Ward and son of Bishop and Mrs. Kent F. Rowe. Mrs. Mable Christensen is confined to the Humana Davis North Hospital where she is undergoing tieatment. Elder Brian Taylor has accepted a mission call to Spain. He will enter the MTC on May 31. He is a member of the Kaysville 2nd LDS Waid and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Taylor. Mrs. Geneve Galbraith of Richland, Wash, was a visitor of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hadfield last week. It has been 40 years since they had been together and it was a very special reunion and occasion for all. Mr. and Mrs. M. Eugene Perkins spent the Easter weekend in St. George with their son Mr. and Mrs. Kent Perkins and family. They were there for the sustaining of Kent as second counselor in the bishopric of the Bloomington Hill 2nd Ward on Sunday, April 22.
