Show WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE During the next several months, the Forest will conduct an intensive analysis of the alternatives. This analysis will consist of looking at where the outputs of resources could best be produced on the Forest, what the cost of producing the different outputs would be and what special policies and guidelines would be needed to produce the outputs and still protect other resources. After each alternative has been fully developed they will be compared against the decision criteria. An alternative that proves the best mix of resources when compared to the decision criteria will be identified as the Fishlake National Forest preferred alternative. This alternative will be described in the proposed Forest Land and Resource Management Plan. We hope to have this document ready early in 1983. HOW TO GET INVOLVED You, the public, can get involved by reviewing this insert and by attending one of the workshops. You are encouraged to complete and return the response form from this insert sheet so we can know your views about the alternatives. Remember, if you have any questions about the planning process, feel free to give us a call or drop by any Forest Service Office. Well be glad to explain any part of the process in further detail. During the workshops you may contribute to formulating alternatives for consideration in the final phase of the planning process. The Fishlake National Forest Plan, when complete, will provide land management direction to the year 2030. We think these alternatives deal with all the issues, con-cerns, and opportunities that have been identified. If you disagree, explain your issue and suggest an alternative or part of an alternative that deals with it.
