Show Page Six The Mt. Pleasant Pyramid October 2, 1975 ... Fairview RAMSEY BETTY Mrs. Sylvia Miller returned to her Fairview home recently after a six weeks visit to California. She went to Manteca, Calif, because of the serious illness and hospitalization of her sister Mrs. Goldie Maddex who has since been moved to a convalescent hospital. Mrs. Miller also visited there with a nephew Fred Maddex and a grandson Jim Miller, Jr., and their families, and with friends of many years standing from the time when Mrs. Miller and her late husband and children lived there before moving to Utah. In Oakdale she spent some time with another sister Mrs. Grace Rogers. All of these relatives have visited in Fairview in past years. Before returning home, Mrs. Miller went to Southern California where she spent a few days with her only brother and his wife, Albert and Delores Montee. She returned to Salt Lake City and was met at the airport by her son and daughter-in-la- Jim and Genevieve Miller. Tom and Juanita Bruton and sons Tom and Charles had as visitors this past week his sister Eleanor and brother-in-la- w Charles Bates. The Bates were returning to California from West Yellowstone, Mont, where they have spent the past few summers. While in Fairview they did some sightseeing, spent some time at the Fairview Museum and visited with friends Sylvia Miller, the Earl Ramseys and the Jim Millers. On the way home the Bates planned to visit Bryce and Zion Parks, spend some time with a son and family in Porterville, Calif., visit with Tom and Eleanors mother, Mrs. Maggie White in Manteca and then return to Watsonville where they now make their home. On Wed. of last week the officers of the Republican party districts in Fairview met in a planning meeting for the Mass meeting to be held Wed. Oct. 1. Those in attendance were chairmen; Sandra Anderson and Betty Ramsey, Secretary Tom Bruton, and committeemen Don Kinsman, Mary Nelson and Oren Anderson. Madsen Geroma has returned home after spending two weeks in Salt Lake City with her daughters and their (amities. She visited Janet Snell and mens John, Xnircw and Steven, and also spent some time with Mr. and Mrs. Royal (Glennis) Bolinder and children Deann and Alan. Bishop Leon Nielsen has announced that there will be no meetings held in the Fairview South Ward next Sunday so that members may be free to watch General on Conference television. Young Marrieds Fireside will be held next Sunday, Oct 7 at 8 p. m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Anderson. A special program welcoming the new girls into the young womens program was held in the South Ward last week. Josie Stewart was in charge of the evenings program which included a musical reading by Linda Nielsen accompanied by Anna Marie Bench, talks by Hazel Anderson and Bee Hive Advisor Betty Ramsey, remarks by Bishop Leoh Nielsen and the 427-340- 8 introduction of the new Bee Hive girls. These, included Kaylynn Larsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mel (Jane) Larsen; Hallie Miner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed (Jean) Miner; Judi Kinsman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don (Ada) Kinsman and Jan Nelson whose parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jerry (LaVon) Nelson. The song Sharing was sung by Mary Nelson, Ruth Ann Shelley, Ada Kinsman, Maxine Anderson, LaVon Nelson, and Victoria Collard and they were by Virginia accompanied Mower. The roofing of the South Ward chapel has been completed by the men of the ward. The committee in charge of the work included Larry Seely, Heber Tippetts, Cory Hancock and Blake Anderson. At a Court of Honor held in the South Ward on Tuesday night Scoutmaster Bryant Madsen presented the following Scouts with awards. Tom Cox- - second Wards this week. They were under the direction of the Presidencies which include in the North Ward, President Goldie Mower and Counselors Velda Nuttall and Alta Larsen and for the South Ward, President Cleone Cox and Counselors Lorraine Miner and Jeanine Peatross. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. (Eda) Anderson were her brother Frank Parkinson and his Mr. and daughter and and Bob Evershed Mrs. daughter Robyn of Salt Lake City. They also visited briefly with the Glade Mower family. The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kimberly (Susan) Banks of Springville was given a name and a blessing in the Fairview North Ward last Sunday. Attending for the blessing were grandparents Mr. and Mrs. G. P. Banks of , Mapleton and Mr. and Mrs. George (Renee) Gappmayer of Fairview. The name given the new little girl was Baby Joy Banks. A luncheon provided by those from Fairview was served by the hosts. On Sunday Sept. 28 Mr. and Mrs. Eugene (Helen) Bohne were joined by some of their family to help them celebrate their wedding anniversary. In addition to Ernest and Cleve, who returned home from Connecticut a few days ago, Mr. and Mrs. Dale (Devona) Meacham and baby son Thad were present. During the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Leslie (Erma) Shelley dropped by to extend their congratulations also. .. son-in-la- climax, Isabell Wayman, as with all grandmothers, is very proud of her Kimberli Ann Kellett, and daddy Andrew Rey Kellett, the proud father, when his d little daughter , Kimberli Ann, and her horse, Angel, brought home six trophies, money, and nine ribbons for excellent performance in her age group, during this summer activities. Kimberli Ann is a member of the Taylor Passey which won over 60 passies in competition. The. group was selected to perform in the Pioneer Days Parade in Ogden. Kim received a trophy from the Passey for her best performance. In the Little Buckaroo Rodeo, she won a ribbon in the goat tying contest. Derek Anderson received a merit badge in environmental science and a Star award. John and second class advancement, merit badges in Tippets-Tenderfo- environmental science and animal husbandry, skill awards for environment, camping, first aid and citizenship. Todd Cheney received his Tenderfoot advancement and a merit badge in fingerprinting. On Thursday A. J. and Eda Anderson had as guests her brother-in-laand sister Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Smuin of Salt Lake City and a niece and husband Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Sandburg of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Rees (Georgia) Bench visited with her sister Phyllis Jones and her brother and sister-in-laand Mrs. Myron Christensen this past week. They also spent some time with his brothers and their families, Kirby and Ada Bench and Worth and Margaret Bench. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Brinton and Mrs. Ora Dixon were visitors this week in the home of A. J. and Eda Anderson. The Mrs. Brintons and Dixons and Mr. Anderson are brother and sisters. The Brintons also visited his sisters and families Margaret and Worth Bench and Royal and Beth Allred of Mt. Pleasant. George and Vicky Collard attended a presentation of the stage play musical Rosemarie at Playhouse 138 on Saturday night in Salt Lake City. Vickys brother Max Shewell was music director for the production. John L. Bench and son Troy visited from Sandy on Saturday with his parents Worth and Margaret Bench. Roldo and Olive Ollerton returned recently from a nine-da- y trip to Southern California. They went out by ' car with Roldos brother Don Ollerton who is a police officer at Redondo Beach. While there they visited Universal Studios, Marineland, Ports o Call, and took a boat tour of the harbor. They also enjoyed sea food dinners at restaurants along the pier. At Long Beach they toured the Queen Mary. Attending for the event were Corys brother Dale Hancock and family from Sandy and Lindas parents Mr. and Mrs. Edward (Dorothy) Adair of Kearns. In all the entries Kimberli Ann won trophies and ribbons. Kimberli loves her horse, has lots of fun learning the skills and tricks. She also excels in her school work. She is in the third grade. Kimberli Ann has a five-yea-r old sister, Lyndi, who is looking forward to riding, and just cant understand why. she could not enter the riding contest now. Congratulations to Kimberli Ann, Mr. and Mrs. Kellett, and Grandmother Isabell. The Kelletts' are former residents of Moroni and Fnt. Green. They are now living in Ogden, and Mrs. Wayman lives in Provo.
