Show Millard County Progress, Fillmore, Utah 84631, Friday, June 12, srj H When I arrived here from church. Sunday, June 7. I found a note in the door informing me of the reunion of the Orange Warner. Jr., family reunion to be held in Idaho, June 20. and 21, 1981. Those members of the more wishing family information are to phone collect to Morgan Warner Hughs, phone number (Reno, Nevada) or write to Morgan War- ner Hughs. 4905 Lake- ridge Ter. W., Reno, 825-397- 8 Nevada 89509. I was very disappoint- ed to have missed visit- with Mr. Hughs as he is such a dynamic character. One is very sure whatever he plans will be a success as he knows where he is going and the best way to get there. The Orange Warner family consisted of Or- ange. his wife Mary Ty- ler Warner, and the fol- lowing children: Byron, Hostein. Orlando, Mor- timer. Orange, Jr., Cy- and wife rus. Warner, who Eliza died unmarried, Ann Warner, married John Fitzgerald. All of the Orange War- ner family were strong, fearless, honest, hard-in- g working citizens who did more than their share of the difficult jobs which had to be done in order to stay alive in what was then almost a desert thousands of miles from the sources of supplies, which were needed to build a capital city, Bands of thieves as well as hundreds of hos- tile Indians roamed the land to steal whatever was available. It took strong, fearless men to guard the early settlers from the depradations of these unscrupulous bands of humanity. Many stories are told about posses hurriedly gathered together to catch bands of thieves who had raided the settlements and driven away their ses and cattle, and always a goodly number of these brave members of the posse were members of Warner the Orange family. The members of this family should ther these stories toge-trosther and have these counts printed for the edification of the young men and women of today, Clinton Ray, son of Emily and Joseph E. Ray, was one of my high school English teachers who helped instill in me my love of literature, I am sure he must have heard many of these ies about Orange Warner and his sons going into to wilderness" the track down and bring back the herds of cattle and horses stolen by bands of roving Indians and thieving white men.
