During the first quarter, Clifford Stephenson, ran 14 yards for a touchdown after which Bryce Monsen kicked for the extra point. When the Eagles gained control of the ball again. Bob Jensen threw a pass to Bryce Monsen for another touchdown and the extra point was also good. At the end of the first quarter the score was 8 14-0- . The second quarter brought another touchdown when Clifford Stephenson returned a punt for 80 yards. Bryce Monsen kicked for the extra point and missed. Halftime score was 20-Action was plentiful when the third quarter Bob Jensen hit came. Bryce Monsen for a 70 yard pass and touchdown. WHO MAY ENTER There are four classes or groups, which include all youth (boys and girls) and adults (men and women). Only one essay for each contestant. Class I Elementary school age Class II Junior high school age 10th, 11th Class 111 and 12th grade students Adults-Colle- ge Class IV students, farmers (Stuand dents may enter either in home county or county of college location). The essay should not exceed words, 1,000 should be typed doublespaced or neatly written. School and public libraries contain plenty of reference material. Essays are due October 12. Cash prizes are offered on a county and state level. Those essays winning first place in the county will be entered in state competition. New families in town Two families subscribed to the Progress this week. Both became new resi- dents recently. Delbert and Shanna Livingston moved here from Glendora. California. They have five children, the younger two came with them. They have a home on North MainStreet. Mr. Livingston is retired. Lee Roy and Margaret Jackson and daughter "DeeDee came from Chico, California. They have three other children who are settled elsewhere. For Lee Roy it is returning home after 20 years in California. He is the son of Mrs. Della Fackrell and a brother to Ross Jackson, both of Fillmore. DeeDee is a freshman at Millard High School. Many things will be happening in PTA this year. First, the Fillmore Elementary night is scheduled for September 20, at 7:00. Then circle Halloween on your calendar for a night of fun and excitement at the Halloween carnival to be held at the Watch for elementary. more information about the carnival in the following weeks. They rent- ed a car and drove around the north end of the island, where Wayne had reservations for the four for a week. They toured sugar cane fields, nut groves, and the volcanoes. Wayne was invited to go on a fishing trip for marlin, on which he got a good sunburn. The place where they stayed was just a stone's throw from the ocean. Coconuts and bananas were everywhere. They flew to Honolulu to board the big jet for home, going over Pearl Harbor and Diamond Head, then on to San Francisco. It was a great experience, but they were glad to be home.
