(It is desirable that meat be substituted for one). 1 Class 12 - Ball Corporation Awards To stimulate the interest of the younger audiences in home food preservation, Ball Corporation is offering three special awards of: I dozen wide mouth Ball Blue Book pint jars I Tomato Cookbook Fach participant must plan and exhibit menus for meals lot one day (3 meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner). The menu must utilize guidelines suggested for good meals planning i.e., texture, color, method of preparation, utilizing food available, and four food groups.) 3 jars of home canned food must be exhibited with the menu. Class 3 - Dried Foods 3 pint jars of dried food must include different varieties of both fruits and vegetables. Division B CLOTHING EXHIBITS Class 14 - Phase I - Skirt, slacks, or divided skirt (may include matching scarf or slippers. (Made of woven cotton or cotton blends.) Class 15 - Phase 2 - School dress or blouse and skirt, slacks or jumper. (Made of Woven cotton or cotton blends.) Class 16 - Phase 3 - Wash school dress (One or two piece) or top with slacks. Made of woven cotton or cotton blends. or Casual Clothes. Class 17 - Phase 4- Tailored dress or jumper, or skirt or weskit or slack suit or sports articles of knitted or woven fabrics. Class 18 - Tailored or Special Occasion Dress Tailored dress, or dress with jacket or slack suit, or special occasion dress (not formats). Division H- - CHILD CARE Class 39 - Enjoying Small Children: Each exhibit shall consist of one item made by a member from the following list: A. A baby sitters kit. The contents of the kit should be contained in a suit case, sturdy box or draw string bag. The container should not exceed 24 in length. Each kit should contain eight (8) different involvement items for young children. Four of the items must be handmade by the members. B. A quiet book. The quiet book should have as a minimum four (4) pages with different activities for young children to do in a quiet situation. Division U RANGE MANAGEMENT Class 41 - First Year- - Collection of 20 important range plants, including 10 grasses, 6 range forbs, 4 range shrubs properly mounted and labeled. Class 42 - Second Year - Collection of 40 important range plants collected from two or more rainfall belts and properly labeled. Class 43 - Third year - Grass board exhibit, consisting of inch sheaves of range plants use in range improvement in Utah. Alternative exhibit: Map of a range unit or part of a range unit showing range condition of each site. Class 44 - Fourth year - Range map and overlay showing a plan for range improvement for an area of private range or public range land. Class 45 - Fifth year - Education exhibit showing application of range improvement practices of basic range principles. Class 59 Phase 2 Boxes of insects containing at least 50 different insects representing at least 8 orders. At least 25 of the insects must have been collected during the current year. Class 60 - Phase 3 - Exhibit to consist of: a. Life history display of two insects, prepared during current year. b. Boxes containing at least 100 different insects representing at least 10 orders. At least 50 of the insects must have been collected during current year. Class 61 - Phase 4 Exhibit to consist of those required for fourth year entomology plus: a. 50 additional insects collected during the current year; total display should contain 150 insects, b. Special section of display illustrating what insects eat. Class 61 Phase5 Exhibit one special display illustrating principles learned during the current year. Display should not have been previously exhibited at the State Fair. Division I - ROCKS AND MINERALS Refer to member manual for exhibit suggestions for county fair.
