But I soon proved to them that fish depend on plants as do all animals. Fish also eat insects, hut the insects eat plants. If there were no plants there would be no insects. Big fish cat smaller fish and small fish eat sea weeds and plants which grow in the ocean. Thus, if there were no plants the little fish would die, which would leave no food for the big fish. It is the same with animals such as cattle, sheep, deer, elk, and other animals, from which we get our meat, all cat plants. Such animals as lions, tigers, bob cats all eat other animals, but these animals, such as rabbits and squirrels, cat plants. Plants do a great deal more than furnish food. Such plants us trees furnish shade, wind, and frost breaks and help to keep the air clean. They take carbon dioxide from the air and beathe out oxygen. They also catch much of the dust th at would otherwise pollute the air. I'vcn a blade of grass helps clean the air. Some people put more pavement around their homes than thev really need just so they wont have so much grass to mow.
