Show SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES Discussion was held concerning the need for a OCal Professional Committee provement and the following were recommended to serve on this committee: Dr. Karl Starr - Fillmore Elementary School; Keith Gillins Millard High School; arc the Following minutes of the Board of Education meeting held 10. 1978 at the Dis trict Office, Delta, Utah. Meeting convened at 9:00 a.m. Members in attend-and- : Jack President; M, Nelson, Bertis Framp-ton- . Duane Galli. David L. Christensen. Robert L. Harris, members; Kenneth M. Topham. Superintendent; and Robert L. Steele, Clerk. Minutes of the Board of Education Meeting held Apri 12. lOS were approved by a motion from Member Frampton, seconded Member by Cluistensen and carried unanimously bv the Members of the Board. The students will be excused at 1.30 p.m. on Mav 26, 1978 and Graduation programs will be as Discussion Nielson - Delta Elementary School; Dave Church - Delta Middle School; Nancy C'onant Delta High School; and Louise Bennett - Chair- from check P156 to 498 inclusive. with along financial reports for the general accounts, were approved by a motion from Member Christensen. seconded by Member Harris and carried unanimously by the Members of the Board. Communications: 1. A letter was presented to the Board of Education from Mrs. Don E. Nielson concerning Janice their daughter in Amethe participating ricas Youth in Concert, June 29 to July 26, 1973. Christensen Member made a motion to approve $250.00 to help her with her expenses for the above program, seconded bv Member Harris and r arried unanimously by the Members of the Board 2. Member Frampton made a motion to congratulate the Millard High School Basketball Team for their outstanding play at the State Tournament and taking the State Championship, seconded by Member Christensen and carried unanimously by the Members of the Board. 3. Discussion was held concerning the need to contribute to the Millard Jr. Livestock show in the sale of the livestock. Member Harris made a contribute to motion $30.00 to participate in the sale of the livestock, seconded by Member Christensen and carried the by unanimously Members of the Board. 4. Discussion was held concerning the bid date for the addition to the Delta High Football stadium bleachers. It was the consensus of the Board of Education to set up a special meeting to open the bids. 5. Discussion was held concerning the students that should be in attendance at school. Member Harris man. made a motion to approve the above recommendations to serve on the committee and to appoint Jack Nelvin and Dave Board Christensen. Members to serve on the committee, seconded by Member Galli and carried the by unanimously Members of the Board. Discussion was held concerning the student insurance for the school Member year 1978-79- . Galli made a motion to approve the Beneficial National Insurance Comthe pany to handle student insurance for the 1978-79- , school year seconded by Member Frampton and carried unanimously by the Members of the Board. Wes Peterson, Todd Nielson, and Mont Turner were present to meet with the Board of Education to discuss the concept of the outdoor classroom, it was the consensus of the Board of Education to have this group meet w nli the priinipals to review tins matter further The follow mg person-ne- new piano at Delta High School will be reviewed at . e i .
