We returned Via Delta arriving home about 7 p.m. tired but happy. Some were saying it was one of the most interesting and educational trips they had made. For the second year in a row, there has been an enthusiastic turnout of girls vying for the title of Miss Millard County. 18girls from West Millard and six from East Millard have been in the sponsored to participate pageant. The winner will be invited to compete for the title of Miss Utah, and may eventually go on to become Miss America. The public is invited to attend a showcase of talent presentations and the crowning of the new queen by last years title holder, Diane Cox. The festivities, starting at 8 P.M. at the Millard High School Auditorium, will cap a full day of performing for the girls. The girls day starts at 11 a.m. with evening gown, talent and swim suit Interviews with the competition. judges will take place following a luncheon at the Paradise Inn. "The girls arc asked about their future plans, and their personal philosophies," said Laura Thomas, one of the Delta organizers of the pageant. The judges deliberate throughout the afternoon and cut the field down to ten girls, who will perform their talent numbers at the evening performance. From these ten girls will be chosen Miss Millard County and two alternates. The winner will receive a $200 scholarship to the school of her choice, $100 towards expenses for participating in the Miss Utah pageant, and a $25 gift certificate from Beulah's Dress Shop. Miss Millard County appears in the Fourth of July parade, the county fair, and generally "anything anybody wants to use them for."
