Show Was Special Affair Fine Arts Birthday Party M Fillmore, THE COUNTRY COOPER Club was the scene setting of the twenty eighth birthday anniversary of the Fine Arts Guild. t f CLELLA FRAMPTON NAMED CHAIRMAN CLELLA FRAMPTON has accepted the appointment as Find Drive Chairman for the East Millard Chapter of the National Red Cross, said Chapter Charlman llarley M. MRS. Handy, Mrs. Frampton will be contacting people and appointing captains for the fund drive from each Ward of East M lllard County. These captains will be responsible for the personal contact for each resident and place of business within each Ward during the month of March. They will need willing workers to help them In making these contacts. The funds collected In thj campaign are used to furnish help in the water safety and first aid program, aid to military personnel, help In home service and disaster relief. Your help and cooperation with Mrs. Frampton and her helpers will be appreciated. IMAGE OF YOUTH The IMAGE of YOUTH UEBRA V'ADE WAS H member for eight years and has won many blue ribbons at the county and state fair on her exhibits. She was a H State Fair finalist In public speaking and has taught H for the past three years. She hopes to attend Brigham Young University next 4-- No- minated for the Side Street column several weeks ago. While waiting for her portrait to be finished It was decided that the teen-age- rs should have a column of their 4-- 4-- own. " THE IMAGE OF YOUTH" was to be the title of the new column. This would be alright too. All entries should be sub- mitted to Photo Village and then be approved by Millard County Progress. As an entertainer singing twister, thought tenanting, down to earth good entertaining comic songs, he takes a beck seat to no one and the best part of It Is he thoughly enjoys doing It. He has sung these songs at entertainments and celebrations In many parts of Utah and In other states. Of his many songs, he has more requests for the 'Laughing Song" than any other. The song "Tomorrow" runs a close second In requests and Newel and Melva enjoyed visiting "Morrow, Ohio," the town which the song was written about. Newel has made a name for himself as a square dance calHe has taught square ler. dance classes In many towns In Utah, and has been a guest caller at many square dance Jamborees In the west. He cherishes the many friends he has made at square dances. Two years ago Mr. Day retongue-- tired as Fillmore Postmaster with thrlty seven years credit In the postal servlcs. The first years of hls postal service was as Postal Clerk and the last six years were as Postmaster. Newel and the postal patrons enjoyed hls service In the Fillmore Post Office. Newel and hls wife Melva are a great asset to our community and to all who know them and certainly are and have been a great Inspiration for good among all that know them. Due to her sunny disposition and her willingness to work and serve, she has been given many opportunities to develop her talents and to grow. She Is active In the L.D.S. Church, having been primary chores-te- r, Seminary historian, and served on the Youth Conference Committee. She has given many talks and musical numbers, been In ward and stake plays, accompanied many singing groups, and has played the organ for various church functions. She Is pre- sently primary organist, Seminary and executive and Laurel presi- nt, dent. Debra Is a conscientious and studious student and has maintained a high grade point. She has been on the student council, yearbook staff, and Is now assistant yearbook editor. She has gone to region and state In speech and drama and represented Millard High on both the first and second year type teams. Debra took first place at region In both team and Individual In type 11. She was selected as one of the four candidates from Millard for the Outstanding Teenagers of America contest and she also attended Girls State. Debra has been an active Being a senior in high school, a whole new world Is about to unfold before me a new beginning to climb higher. Finding myself has been my biggest trail to blaze, but I have set goals, standards to live, and dreams to fulfill to help me discover who I am. The program committee brought a very talented trio of musicians to entertain us after the luncheon. Mr. and Mrs. Larry LeBaron who had played the lead roles "Promised Valley," sang "Love Is My Long," to begin and end program. Their repertoire Included numbers from the the Student Prince and other light operas, also the Lords Prayer. They Included soos Mrs. Genevlve and duets. Potter was the accompanist a very talented pianist, she rendered a beautiful piano solo. The program was outstanding, one of the best we have heard. The entertainers live In Provo. Next Program a Musical FEBRUARY 17 FINE ARTS program will be a musical extravaganza, arranged by the music committee Edith Ruth Satterfield and Pam Hamblin. It Is to be held In the M. Cal-list- er, H.S. Band Room. Hostesses are Rose Rogers, Helen Rogers and Joyce Pam Hamblin announced the program at the Birthday Party which will be as follows: Music from "Fiddler On The Roof under the direction of joe Moody music teacher In the Delta High School.
