Show Answer to J. Jensen. From your description of your case it is very difficult for me to inform you definitely what is the matter with jour animal. It is possible that the cow has some lung trouble. It some times haprens that a part of one or the lungs becomes functionlcss (solid) thus causing the animal to groan when breathing. Some diseases also cause a groaning of this kind. Among them may be mentioned tuberculosis. I have seen cows that would groan after af-ter your description from a flattened trachia (wind pipe). This is caused 1'y the animal being compelled to get food out of a deep, narrow manger causing a flattening of the lrnhia by pressing it constantly against the Hunger. The animal should be examined ex-amined to ascertain what the cause is, when this is known the treatment would not be very difficult. If the 1 caw scums to be d'oing well with this exception I would say that it is noth- ing ery alarming. -m o |
